چکیده
We report the generation of sub-picosecond modelocked pulses from an ultrafast laser inscribed Er-doped waveguide laser. 320 fs pulses at a repetition rate of 40 MHz and energy of 31 pJ were facilitated via passive modelocking by a carbon nanotube saturable absorber. Ultrafast Stretched-Pulse Fiber Laser Mode-Locked by Carbon Nanotubes
Ultrafast fiber sources having short pulses, broad bandwidth, high energy, and low amplitude fluctuations have widespread applications. Stretched-pulse fiber lasers, incorporating segments of normal and anomalous dispersion fibers, are a preferred means to generate such pulses. We realize a stretched-pulse fiber laser based on a nanotube saturable absorber, with 113 fs pulses, 33.5 nm spectral ...

Ultrafast fiber lasers with broad bandwidth and short pulse duration have a variety of applications, such as ultrafast time-resolved spectroscopy and supercontinuum generation. We report a simple and compact all-fiber thulium-doped femtosecond laser mode-locked by carbon nanotubes. The oscillator operates in slightly normal cavity dispersion at 0.055 ps(2), and delivers 152 fs pulses with 52.8 ...
متن کاملSingle-walled carbon nanotube saturable absorber assisted high-power mode-locking of a Ti:sapphire laser.
We report on passive mode-locking of a Ti:sapphire laser employing a single-walled carbon nanotube saturable absorber (SWCNT-SA) specially designed and fabricated for wavelengths near 800 nm. Mode-locked pulses as short as 62 fs were generated at a repetition rate of 99.4 MHz. We achieved output powers from the SWCNT-SA mode-locked laser as high as 600 mW with a slope efficiency of 26%. The cha...
متن کاملNanoindentation studies on waveguides inscribed in chalcogenide glasses using ultrafast laser
Optical straight waveguides are inscribed in GeGaS and GeGaSSb glasses using a high repetition-rate sub-picosecond laser. The mechanical properties of the glasses in the inscribed regions, which have undergone photo induced changes, have been evaluated by using the nanoindentation technique. Results show that the hardness and elastic modulus of the photo-modified glasses are significantly lower...

We report a passively dual-wavelength mode-locked Yb:LuYSiO5 (Yb:LYSO) laser with a double-walled carbon nanotube saturable absorber (DWCNT-SA) for the first time. Simultaneous mode-locking at the 1045.5 and 1059.0 nm was achieved and the pulse duration of the dual-wavelength modelocked pulses are 8.0 ps. Ultrahigh repetition rate ultrafast pulses with 750 fs pulse width and 3.66 THz repetition...
